WE ARE YOUR CALM AFTER THE STORM

 

We live in St Pete Beach, Florida and September 2024 will NEVER be forgotten. Hurricane Helene went up the west coast of our state, causing major flooding in our small beach community. We had 34" of sea water inside our home causing an extreme amount of damage.

The next day I went to the AT&T store to purchase a new cellphone as it floated away lives back together. There I saw a gentleman wearing a Storm Restoration T-shirt. I asked him if he was just providing free advertising for that company or if he was employed by them. He introduced himself as TJ Jarma and yes, he was in the business of Storm Restoration. We spoke for at least 30 minutes, and I just had a good feeling about this gentleman the more I grew to know him.  I went with my intuition and made an appointment for him to stop by our home later that day.

TJ arrived at our agreed time with his camera and paperwork. He explained every detail of the process in terms I could understand and answered each one of my lengthy lists of questions.  From the moment we began chatting, TJ put me at ease. I was, at the beginning, a bit apprehensive as I had heard many horror stories of contractors taking advantage of people that had just lost so much. This was definitely not the case with TJ! I signed the appropriate paperwork and that began the process and put my mind and heart at ease. It also was the best sleep in the hotel I had in a week!

TJ and Byron, with their crew, arrived the next morning and began the process of removing all the contents in our home below 4 feet to include the drywall, brought in large fans to dry the exposed studs and sprayed anti-bacterial/anti mold solution throughout. That began the process, and it was a "well-oiled machine" from then to the completion 3 months later.

All of the sub-contractors TJ and Byron brought in did amazing work, true craftsman in their respected trades. Also, it was like clockwork. As soon as one trade was completed, another came in a very short time later.

They dealt with our Flood Insurance Company, the City Building Department, as well as our adjuster, which made me not have to be concerned with those tasks as I had enough other items to deal with.

TJ and Byron's communication skills were excellent as well. They always kept me in the loop, sending pictures of the progress as I was staying 100 miles away from my home.
They both put my wife and I at ease from that first meeting at the AT&T store to our final Building Permit inspections. They truly cared about our dream home, and I can honestly say that although I don't wish what we went through on anyone, you will certainly not go wrong hiring the team of TJ Jarma and Byron Lawhon. They will put you at ease at the first meeting, uphold their promises, be honest and upfront with you, and complete putting your home or business, as well as your life, back together again!
